Love & Pain

Published by mrsvincent under Uncategorized Edit This

You ever hear that saying, Its better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all?
I thought about it because I really didn’t know if I agreed with it or not, I mean it might be nice to never know what hurt feels like right? But then I got to thinking and I wouldn’t trade those moments that make my heart race, my pulse jump or my toes curl.
I wouldn’t want to forget them, ever. You make a conscious decision to be with someone knowing very well that tomorrow might never come for you guys, (Literally and figuratively) and I would rather live remembering the things that made me smile then live never having had a reason to smile.
Get what I’m saying?
Someone asked me once, they said, “If you could have a happy button installed in you so that anytime you needed to get happy all you had to do was press it. Would you do it?”
I don’t think I would, I think the idea of being able to be happy all the time is a nice concept but I don’t think I would honestly want to be happy all the time. I mean it would take away from what true happiness is. True happiness is earned. Without sorrow there is no joy, no pain and no pleasure. Its all stuff I’m sure you’ve heard before but Its true. If happiness was just given to us, it wouldn’t be happiness, it would be boring. When a lover surprises you with flowers, you get happy. When A child learns to say your name, you get happy. When your stuck in traffic and you look up at the sky and see a rainbow, you get happy. Now imagine, your grandma dies and you get happy, you just get fired and you get happy, the vending machine ate your money and you get happy? No, There is times when its important to have other emotions. Important to FEEL other things than happiness.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, don’t be scared to love, and don’t be scared to get hurt.
For we need love and pain as much as we need water and air.
