If you know you won't be in your place long online classes is another alternative just not fun classes really. In my experience a part time job helps but often military people only have one car which makes that challenging. I have so many days when I just can't get going and I don't even get dressed until 6 in the evening. I went to a military psychiatrist for help and they told me it was normal to not do anything until the end of the day or at all if I didn't really have anywhere to be. I think that psychiatrist needed help of her own so I never went back to her. Yeah they get punished but it is always the wife who feels punished or who hurts the most in the end. It got to the point whenever my husband and I would be separated for any kind of training, I would just take away his phone and say honey it just isn't worth you getting in trouble. Sometimes it is our job to help them make the right decisions. Once they get higher ranking it gets to the point that every time they make a mistake it means a demotion. In addition I don't think it is wise to be a part more than 3 month let alone 2 years. My husband has been in Iraq and I blog about my struggles constantly. Anyhow It took my husband 3 month to get command sponsorship for me. The military will give your husband a loan so you can get to Korea. They will take out a small percentage of every check until they are paid back. I will check out my resources and see if I can give you anything more helpful. In the meantime try to figure out who your frg leader is and get in direct contact with her rather than your key caller.
